Resetting Consignor Passwords
When a consignor cannot log in, the problem is almost always one of two things: a password they have forgotten, or an email address that is no longer valid. Both are fixable from your Consignors Menu. Here is how to handle each scenario.
What this article covers:
- Resetting a password for a single consignor
- Bulk password reset for multiple consignors
- Fixing an invalid or undeliverable email address
- Using a Gmail alias to make an address deliverable
Resetting a Single Consignor's Password
Where to find it: Manage → Consignors → click the consignor's row → Actions → Reset Password

Steps:
- Navigate to Manage → Consignors in the left navigation.
- Find the consignor and click their row to open the detail panel on the right.
- Click Actions in the top right of the detail panel. A dropdown appears.
- Select Reset Password. Enter a new password and confirm. The consignor's password updates immediately. ✓

Note: This sets a permanent password and the consignor will not be prompted to change it on first login. Advise them to log in and update it to a secure password of their own.
Bulk Password Reset - COMING SOON!
Bulk Password Reset
If you need to reset passwords for multiple consignors at once, use this bulk action. This is useful when working through a list of accounts with login issues.
Where to find it: Manage → Consignors → select consignors using checkboxes → Actions → Reset Password
Steps:
- Navigate to Manage → Consignors.
- Use the checkboxes to select the consignors who need a password reset.
- Click Actions and select Reset Password.
- Enter a password. JBFOne will apply it to all selected consignors whose email addresses are verified. ✓
Note: Bulk password reset only works on consignors with unverified or invalid email addresses. Accounts with verified emails will be skipped.
Fixing an Invalid or Unverified Email Address
Some consignors in your migrated data may have email addresses that are no longer active, were never valid, or were entered incorrectly. JBFOne flags these accounts— you will see a pencil icon next to the email address in the consignor detail panel, indicating the address is unverified.

Until the email is corrected, password reset emails cannot be delivered.
To update the email address:
- Click the pencil icon next to the consignor's email address in the detail panel.
- Enter a valid, deliverable email address.
- Save. The consignor can now receive a password reset link at the updated address. ✓

Once the address is corrected, direct the consignor to the login page to use the standard password reset flow — or reset it manually from the Actions menu.
Using a Gmail Alias to Make an Address Deliverable
If a consignor's email address is invalid but you need a quick, deliverable address to get a reset link, a Gmail alias is the fastest solution — and it requires no special setup.
How it works
Gmail treats any address with a + modifier as a valid variation of the original address. For example, [email protected] delivers to the same inbox as [email protected]. You can create as many variations as you need, and they all route to the primary account — no admin setup required.
Steps
- In the consignor detail panel, click the pencil icon next to the email address.
- Enter a Gmail alias using the format: [email protected] — for example, [email protected].
- Save the updated address.
- The consignor can now receive a password reset link at that address. Direct them to the login page to complete the reset. ✓
Pro Tip This is especially useful for valet consignor accounts that were created with placeholder or fake email addresses. Updating to a Gmail alias makes the account immediately reachable without creating a new account or losing registration history.
Consignors back in. Problem solved.
Most login issues resolve in two steps: fix the email address, then reset the password. If a consignor is still having trouble after both steps, confirm the updated email address is correct and have them check their spam folder for the reset link.
